Being a camp counselor was one of the best experiences in my
life; it opened my mind and helped me to become better.

I want to go back to New Jersey this year! Camp nursing for individuals
with disabilities was a wonderful way to expand my nursing skills. The
job was continually exciting and it was wonderful to watch the
campers as they enjoyed the experience of camp. I would recommend
this area of nursing to anyone with the desire to step out of their
normal nursing routine and use their knowledge in an energetic
and recreational atmosphere.

Everything is pretty good. My camper this week needs a lot
of assistance with eating, toileting, dressing, transferring,
stuff like that, so it is a lot of work but it seems it will
be very rewarding at the end when he will go back home. I'm just
learning a lot of this on the job. I haven't had an experience
like this. Keith (during camp)
Rick, I just wanted to thank you for helping me out this summer.
It was a great experience and you definitely made it easier and
stress free. I'm definitely planning on going back to Maryland
next summer. Working at camp was one of the most rewarding experiences
of my life. I grew as a person in so many ways as my campers
relied on me to provide them with some of the most basic necessities
in life. I hope I can continue to provide campers with an enjoyable
experience this coming summer!

Thank you so much for everything! Camp really did change
my life in a big way! I really cannot thank you enough for
allowing me the opportunity to travel to California and make an
impact as well as to learn a lot more about human nature, myself,
and well, life. Thanks a million!

at camp and would like to go for next year. The people are great!
I have some pictures for you to use when you recruit. I can’t
wait to tell you all about it when I get home!

I’m having an amazing time, its hard work all day long non-stop but it’s
something I’ll always remember and have memories to last forever. Thank
you again so much for finding me this job. It has been one of the best summers
I have ever had and I don’t want to leave. I've meet some incredible
people that I know I will stay in touch with for the rest of my life. Thank
you for all your help this summer, I’ve had an amazing time and I just
don’t want to leave all my friends. It’s so bittersweet. I'm actually
supposed to be in classes on the 23rd but I can't pull myself away so I decided
to stay in NYC until the 25th and miss my first few days. Thank you so much for
the opportunity. It really has been a once in a lifetime experience and has changed
my life.

My camp experience was awesome and I learned patience, trust,
and that I am so fortunate to be able to walk. And camp had a major
impact on my personal life. When I first started working I weighed
a total of 256 pounds. I was taking blood pressure and cholesterol
medication. I am now 189 pounds and under 17% body fat! I have
also been taken off my medications by my doctor! I want to thank
the camp staff but most of all the campers! Camp Merry Heart and
Alex, the camp director, made an impact in my life!
